Regardless of whether you think in miracles, this tale will undoubtedly make you cry.
Hadley and Gentry Eddings, who reside in South California, were involved in a terrible car accident in May 2015. After attending a wedding, they were driving home when a truck struck their automobile. They suffered only minor wounds, but they also lost their two-year-old son Dobbs. The catastrophe also claimed the life of Baby Reed, who was two weeks past his due date.
Hadley was 38 weeks along when the mishap occurred. She was transported to the hospital, where she underwent an urgent C-section delivery of Baby Reed. Tragically, only two days later, the infant was taken to the heavenly home.
The parents mourned the loss of their children, and the days after that flew by in grief. They could have tried to conceive again, but they could not come to terms with the fact that having more children would be akin to betraying Dobbs and Reed. But then Hadley realized that she didn’t want to spend the rest of her life without experiencing motherhood again. After deliberate consideration and working on their emotional issues, the couple decided to give parenthood another chance.
They found their comfort and peace in their faith that God has a good plan for them.
The toughest part of healing, however, was to forgive the driver, who was responsible for the accident and was charged with 15 months of imprisonment. Eventually, they did pardon him. Gentry, who is a pastor, firmly believes in the power of forgiveness.
God answered their prayers when Hadley gave birth to twin boys on July 10, 2017, just a few weeks after the tragedy struck them two years earlier. The gentlemen announced their arrival by saying, “We praise Jesus for our third and fourth miracles: Isaiah Dobbs Eddings and Amos Reed Eddings. Two healthy and beautiful boys.”
They have named their angels Isaiah Dobbs Eddings and Amos Reed Eddings, their middle names honoring their deceased brothers.
Would you call the birth of twins less than a miracle? Their family friend, Stacey Martin, aptly describes this birth as God’s way of creating beauty from ashes. We couldn’t agree more.
Our heartiest congratulations to the new parents!
