Ramie Snodgrass, 35, of Taᴄᴏᴍᴀ, Washington, transformed her bloated tummy into a gorgeous bikini body without dieting or exercising. She credits her great figure to taking care of her three children, Anna, Connor, and Justin, as well as her incredible “body strength.” All of it helped her body get back in shape, from getting kids out of their beds on a daily basis to lugging enormous boxes of diapers and pushing their giant pram. She was ᴀfʀᴀɪᴅ she might lose her babies during the pregnancy since twins Connor and Justin shared the same amniotic sac, placing them at ᴅᴀɴɢᴇʀ.
Monoamniotic twins are medically referred to as monoamniotic twins, and physicians have recommended decreasing the pregnancy to one to guarantee survival. However, the parents, who thought they were given twins for a reason, chose not to terminate the pregnancy and went on to deliver three healthy kids who are now approaching nine months of age.
“For me, a huge concern of having triplets was not being able to do the things I love like running, hiking, and other things,” Ramie, a full-time mother, said. I want to encourage other people, especially other mothers, to not give up on the things that are essential to them as individuals. I attempted running six weeks after my C-Section but found it to be too ᴘᴀɪɴful, so I don’t exercise as much as I used to.”
“However, I believe that having triplets has kept me slender since it is physically demanding to pull them out of their cribs, carry large boxes of diapers, push their giant strollers, and so on. I have a fit body type, I eat very healthily, I don’t exercise often since I am caring for the babies, and I enjoy going for walks whenever I get the opportunity. It’s quite physically taxing for me to rush up and down the stairs, scooping up one kid after another when they start crying. I was so ᴀfʀᴀɪᴅ of losing my babies that the photos remind me of how close I came to not becoming a mother. I recognize how powerful the body can be in the second photo, where they are having fun on the yoga mat on the grass.
I’m grateful and privileged to be a mother, but I’m also aware that I’m in a very different emotional position now.” Ramie and Brad confess they were taken aback when they learned they were expecting triplets. “Our intention was to have one baby, and we didn’t utilize fertility assistance,” Ramie remembered, “but at our ultrasound, they were like, ‘There’s one, no wait, there’s three.’” “I wish I could say I was overjoyed at first, but I was ᴛᴇʀʀɪfɪᴇᴅ, worried about how we would finance and handle three children. We realized we had been granted the greatest miracle and blessing after that.”
“We knew they’d be preterm, which was ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ enough, but physicians also talked to us about decreasing to a single pregnancy,” Ramie explained.
But we thought we were given triplets for a purpose, and that was the life we would have no matter what the future held for us.” Thankfully, the triplets survived, with Anna weighing 3lb 3oz and Justin weighing 3lb 8oz and Connor weighing 3lb 7oz. Ramie uploaded two photos of herself after returning home and adjusting to life with their three new additions: one of her enormous baby belly and another five months later.
The image went viral, with many people surprised at how quickly her physique looked to be back in shape. She was taken aback by the attention and felt ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ about it, feeling that there were other parents who deserved it more.
“At times I feel like an impostor; there are many more courageous moms than me – mothers with handicapped children, high-ʀɪsᴋ pregnancies that didn’t turn out well – and I feel guilty for the attention,” Ramie said. I’m relieved to get my body back; I felt uncomfortable while pregnant, especially because I’ve always maintained a healthy lifestyle.”
Ramie’s mental and emotional change was the most significant distinction between the two photos. “I was sʜᴏᴄᴋed by the response I got; to me, it’s more than just a physical bodily makeover; it’s also a mental and emotional one,” she continued.
I was ᴛᴇʀʀɪfɪᴇᴅ of losing my babies during my pregnancy. I’m simply grateful to be able to feel like myself again and spend time with my children. I have a lot of fun dressing them up; it’s nice to have a creative outlet and enjoy my kids while I’m taking time off to be a mother. They’re treated rotten – in a nice manner – and receive a lot of love.”
