Despite actively trying, the news was still unexpected
SHAUGHNA Phillips revealed why she was shocked to find out about her pregnancy.
The popular ITV2 dating show’s sixth season featured the former Love Island star.
Shaughna, 31, announced she was expecting her second child back in June.
Now, the star has admitted that although she wanted to have another baby, she wasn’t expecting to get pregnant so quickly.
She told: “I was trying. It was my first attempt at, I guess, getting pregnant, like actively trying.
“I was aware that there was a possibility, but I’ve most likely maintained Clear Blue’s operations.
“As you can see, I was placing test after test after test orders on Amazon. In fact, it was absurd.
“But I really didn’t expect it to happen on the first try. Like, I’m very lucky in that sense.”
The star admitted that she used to continuously take tests, but it was still a shock when she saw that positive line.
“I was testing, testing and testing, and it was coming back negative because I was so early,” Shaughna revealed.
“Then it got to the point where, because I was testing so much, I would do one and not even think twice about it because I was doing them about seven times a day.”
The TV personality continued: “And so I did one, first thing in the morning, and I left it in the toilets for about half an hour.
“I think only when I went back in there to brush my teeth, I was like, oh, yeah, there it is, let’s have a look.”
“I was thinking it’s going to be negative, obviously. And then there was the faintest positive line; I was over the moon.”
The star admitted she was stunned by the news, but she conducted yet another test to make sure the news was definite.
“But I just really didn’t expect it’d be the first try. So, it was a shock. It was still a shock, even though I was trying,” she added.
“The next day I did another and I thought right, I’m going to film this, and it came up with a stronger line, and even then I was still in shock.
Shaughna and her jailbird partner Billy Webb already have a two-year-old daughter named Lucia.
After her spouse was imprisoned in 2023 on drug-related charges, we also asked the celebrity if she is aware of the gender of her unborn child, which is due in November.
She told: “Yes. So I do know the gender. I didn’t find out with Lucia, and so I wanted to find out this time.
“I wanted to be able to tell her, like, you’re going to have a brother or you’re going to have a sister.”
