7-Year-Old Syrian Girl Protects Brother From Earthquake Rubble For 36 Hours

The video, which depicts the seven-year-old girl and her younger brother trapped under a large block of rubble after the building fell, is causing internet rage. Before they were saved, it took several hours.

New Delhi, February 8: The devastating earthquake in southern Turkey and Syria where the ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ toll crossed the 7,800 mark, and the rescue operation team is continuing to pull out the survivors from the debris. The authorities gathered to pull out survivors, where a video has gone viral of a seven-year-old girl shielding her sibling under the rubble on Wednesday.

The video is melting the internet where it showed the seven-year-old girl and her younger brother were stuck under a heavy concrete of rubble when the building collapsed. It was after hours before they were rescued.

Sharing a photograph of the trapped siblings, a United Nations representative, Mohamad Safa tweeted on Tuesday, “The 7-year-old girl who kept her hand on her little brother’s head to protect him while they were under the rubble for 17 hours has made it safely…”

The rubble has gone viral, where the seven-year-old shielding her sibling before their rescue surfaced online. Both of them were rescued and were lauded for being brave while the girl was hailed as a hero for maintaining her strength and determination in the face of the ᴅɪsᴀsᴛᴇʀ.

The ᴅɪsᴀsᴛᴇʀ became ever more apparent, the ᴅᴇᴀᴛʜ toll looked likely to rise considerably.
